Build Recruitment Limited is partnering with a housing associations to recruit a Planner for Social Housing. The role focuses on scheduling responsive repairs, planned works and maintenance across housing stock, ensuring residents experience minimal disruption and high service standards.

You will coordinate with operatives, contractors and residents, balance priorities, monitor progress and use housing management systems to track job status, driving efficiency and quality in a busy repairs team.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a planning, scheduling, or coordination role-ideally within social housing, construction, or facilities management.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage high volumes of work without losing attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a customer-first mindset.
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A collaborative approach, working well with both field operatives and office-based teams.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate responsive repairs, planned works, and maintenance tasks for our housing stock.
  • Allocate jobs to operatives and contractors based on skills, location, and availability, ensuring optimal efficiency.
  • Monitor progress in real time, reassigning work as needed to meet deadlines and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Liaise with residents to confirm appointments, provide updates, and handle rescheduling with empathy and professionalism.
  • Use our housing management and scheduling systems (e.g., DRS, Oneserve, or similar) to track and report on job status.
  • Work closely with supervisors, surveyors, and customer service teams to resolve issues quickly.
  • Analyse performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for service improvement.
