Qualifications

  • Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (preferred).

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Stocken, a category C Prison located in Oakham.

About The Role

The Pharmacy at HMP Stocken serves 1285 adult males. The pharmacy team consists of a Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician and a Dispenser. This position is not a dispense‑only pharmacy but includes 6 dispensary hatches within medication/administration points.

Hours
  • Monday - Sunday service
  • Weekdays 7.30am - 5.30pm
  • Weekends and Bank Holidays 8.30am - 5.30pm
Salary

This position is full time; you’ll receive an annual salary between £34,428 and £41,659 per annum, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding quality‑based, patient‑centred care to our patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focus on providing a safe and secure medicines‑management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed with high organisational standards.
  • Deliver non‑judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, including timely administration of medicines and analysing cost‑effective prescribing as defined through our unique Health in Justice medicines policy.
  • Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, making a real difference.

Qualifications & Experience
  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up‑to‑date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures
  • Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (preferred, but not essential)
