Job summary

Practice Plus Group is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician for HMP Millsike, a Category C men's prison near York. The role sits in a dedicated Pharmacy Team with pharmacists, a pharmacy manager and accuracy checking technicians, offering probation-based ACT training and clear development opportunities.

Working 37.5 hours weekly with a rotating 10-week rota, you will support a safe, high-quality prison healthcare service and gain exposure to a multidisciplinary team across secure environments.

Qualifications

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD).
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience.
  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration the need to maintain a high level of security.
  • Hold direct patient contact as part of a comprehensive healthcare package based on the prison service's needs.
  • Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines management, drug regimes, medicines.
  • Make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team at HMP Millsike, a Category C men's prison, located in Full Sutton near York.

About The Role

HMP Millsike is a newly built prison with an operational capacity of 1500 places. As part of the government's drive to cut reoffending prisoners spend their sentences learning the skills they need to find work on release.

You will be part of a new Pharmacy Team, including Pharmacists, a Pharmacy Manager and Accuracy Checking Technicians.

There are lots of opportunity for development within this role including ACT training upon successful completion of probation.

Hours

Working 37.5 hours a week with alternate weekends, working on a 10 week rolling rota, which ensures good breaks and work life balance. Weekend hours are 8.00am -5.45pm.

Week 1: 3 long days/ 6.45am-7.15pm

Week 2: 2 long days/ 6.45am-7.15pm

Salary

You'll receive an annual salary up to £41,659 per annum - depending on experience.
