Job summary

Practice Plus Group's Health in Justice team is seeking a Bank Pharmacy Technician for HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough. The role supports an integrated, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service with a strong emphasis on safety and security within a busy healthcare environment.

You will work within the healthcare department, maintaining direct patient contact, promoting safe patient care, and continuously developing clinical skills in a large prison pharmacy setting.

Qualifications

  • Hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work within a busy environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal prison pharmaceutical service.
  • Work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact.
  • Promote safe patient care.
  • Develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

We have an exciting opportunity for a BANK Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Five Wells, a category C Prison located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

HMP Five Wells has a capacity of 1800 males.

HMP Five Wells is a GPHC Registered Pharmacy, the prison has its own pharmacy on site with 7 administration points based on each house block and will be working as part of a large pharmacy team of 14

Bank Hours:
  • Monday - Sunday
  • Weekdays - 7am - 7.15pm
  • Weekends - 8.00am - 5.30pm
Bank Hourly Rate:
  • Weekdays - £21.76
  • Weekends - £23.61
  • Bank Holidays - £28.33

  • You will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
  • You will be required to work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact, which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison service’s needs.
