Job summary

Practice Plus Group's HMP Gartree site is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team within the healthcare department of this category B prison in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. The pharmacy conducts dispensing, ordering, prescription rewriting, stock control and medication checks, with a four‑person team.

The role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, with 1 weekend in 4, and a salary of £34,428 to £41,658 per annum.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pharmacy.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD).
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures.
  • Ideal experience in hospital, community or prison environment (not essential).

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard and following standard operating procedures to a high and orderly standard.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our medicines policy.
  • You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

The pharmacy within the healthcare department is responsible for dispensing, ordering, prescription rewriting, stock control, and medication checks. The team consists of four staff members.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary between £34,428 - £41,658 per annum FTE - depending on experience.
