Job summary

Practice Plus Group is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to join the Primary team at HMP Eastwood Park, a women’s prison near Bristol. The role focuses on safe medicines management and patient-centred care within a secure healthcare environment.

You’ll be supported by bespoke induction, CPD and career development opportunities, with on-site parking, an on-site café and gym access. The role emphasizes teamwork and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or higher qualification.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Commitment to CPD and professional development.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work unsupervised following policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide medicines management with a patient-centred approach.

.HMP Eastwood Park is a women's prison in Gloucestershire focused on rehabilitation, wellbeing, and helping individuals build positive futures. Health care is situated in the prison and provides a 24 hour healthcare and has a capacity of around 400 females.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Primary team at HMP Eastwood Park, located near Bristol. Hours:

• Monday - Sunday
• Weekdays 7.15am - 7pm
• Weekends - 8.30 - 7.15pm
• Every other weekend
• 4 week rolling rota

Salary

You’ll receive an annual salary between £34,428 - £41,658 per annum, depending on experience

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

• Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
• Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
• You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

• NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
• Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
• Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
• General GCSE education or equivalent
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
