Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the team at HMP Lewes in Lewes, East Sussex. This role operates within a combined pharmacy and dispensing setting and offers opportunities for ACPT training and career progression. Overtime is paid at bank rate.

The position requires GPHC registration, NVQ/BTEC level qualifications, and a commitment to patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary team. 37.5 hours over a 4-day rota includes some weekend work.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or above, BTEC or equivalent.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Continual Professional Development (CPD) up to date.
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience.
  • General GCSE education or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.
  • Experience in hospital, community or prison environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Be a GPHC registered pharmacy technician and integral member of the pharmacy team within a multidisciplinary clinical healthcare setting.
  • Provide patient-centred, high-quality care by listening to feedback and ensuring care is personalised.
  • Maintain safe medicines management and keep patient records up to date per standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to cost-effective prescribing and support the health in justice medicines policy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to deliver a trusted, safe service.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician role to join our team at HMP Lewes, a category B men's prison located in Lewes, East Sussex.

This site has both a pharmacy and dispenser with a really strong, integrated team and due to growth looking for more Technicians. This site offers fantastic opportunity for learning and development and career progression including ACPT training. Great opportunity for overtime which is paid at the bank rate. They are always happy to invite anyone in for a look around the department and a cup of tea!

Hours: 37.5hrs over 4 days, on a 2-weekly fixed rota. It includes 1 weekend in 2.

Monday-Thursday 07:30-17:00 / Friday-Sunday 08:00-17:00

Salary

Ranges between £29,838 - £34,658 - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • As a GPHC registered pharmacy technician with Practice Plus Group you will become an integral member of pharmacy team, as well as a valued member of the multidisciplinary clinical healthcare team.
  • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focusing on a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy. You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of.
