Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team at HMP Altcourse in Fazakerley, Liverpool. The role focuses on medicines management and high-quality patient care within a busy prison setting.

You will work 37.5 hours per week across various shifts, with induction and career development opportunities provided, including CPD support and structured learning paths.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or above is required or equivalent.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is required.
• Continual Professional Development (CPD) up to date.
• Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience is expected.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide medicines management and patient-centred care on prison wings.

• Contribute to cost-effective prescribing within policy.

HMP Altcourse is the busiest remand prison in the country with a capacity of 1164 males, there's lots going on in this exciting, varied role, where you will gain valuable experience, and no 2 days are ever the same!

About The Role

The Pharmacy Technician will primarily based on the prison wings within the treatment rooms holding clinics. The Pharmacy Team consists of a team of 14.

Hours

• Monday - Sunday servic
• 37.5 hours per week
• Various shifts covering between Weekday 7am - 10pm - 11 hour shifts

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary between £34,428 - £41,658 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
• Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
• You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
