Job summary

A regional health service provider is seeking a Pharmacy Clinical Trials Officer to join their dynamic Clinical Trial Team. This role involves supporting efficient pharmacy clinical trials services and engaging with key Pharmacists to build on the trials portfolio. Applicants should have previous clinical trials experience and relevant qualifications, including a degree in Pharmaceutical Science and GCP certification. Pharmacy Clinical Trials Officer

A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a passionate, highly motivated, and dynamic Pharmacy Clinical Trials Officer, to join the Clinical Trial Team at the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. Clinical trials is an integral part of the National Health Service. Everyday clinical trials investigating medicines are being run across the country which are working towards new and improved treatments for patients. This exciting role will contribute to this invaluable work.

Applicants should have previous experience in clinical trials, and previous exposure to Aseptic, oncology or haemato-oncology would be advantageous. You will be part of a dynamic team consisting of research focused Chief Investigators, Principal Investigators, Consultants, Research Nurses, Research Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Quality Assurance Professionals including Qualified Person and the wider Research Team, who are always striving for excellence in quality of our work. This position will be based either at Ipswich Hospital or Colchester Hospital, with the expectation to provide cross-site coverage to ensure consistent service delivery and maintain the quality of service.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for supporting the Clinical Trials team to provide a reliable and efficient pharmacy clinical trials service which meets the needs of our clinical trials patients at ESNEFT and the surrounding areas, sponsors and also the many specialist research teams we work closely with across the Trust.

You will also actively engage with the Clinical Trials Pharmacist(s) to build and expand the clinical trials portfolio whilst ensuring compliance with International Conference on Harmonisation of Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP), clinical trials regulations, the research governance framework and other relevant guidelines and policies. The post holder will also take a leading role in developing and maintaining computer systems related to clinical trials.

  • Degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmacy, Biotechnology or equivalent or B-Tech in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC
  • Current Good Clinical Practice certificate
