Job summary

A leading NHS organization in the United Kingdom is seeking a motivated Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacy staff at multiple locations. The role involves a variety of duties from providing pharmaceutical stock services to dispensing prescriptions. Candidates are expected to have an NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services or be willing to study for it. Full training will be provided; experience is not essential. This position is part of a structured rotation between sites and requires adaptability for extended hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a ward stock topping up service of pharmaceutical products.
  • Conduct reception duties including logging information.
  • Receive goods from suppliers.
  • Dispense prescriptions.
  • Perform housekeeping duties.
  • Work accurately and quickly under pressure, delivering high standards in a patient focused environment.
  • Communicate effectively with ward staff, pharmacy staff, porters and drivers.
  • Participate in extended hours including late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
Job description
Pharmacy Assistant

30 hours per week

Locations: Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary

Band: Band 2 / 3 depending on qualifications and experience

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer to support and enhance our teams at Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary. You will be required to work at both sites as part of a three week structured rotation.

Depending on qualifications and experience you will be appointed to either a band 2 or band 3 position.

Requirement to study for an NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services if not already gained at appointment.
