Job summary

Bestway Healthcare UK is seeking a Shift Operations Manager to lead the warehouse on the daytime shift (9-5). You will ensure safe, compliant handling, storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products, and you will drive performance across people, inventory, and processes.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on oversight of GDP, SOPs, and quality systems, with a focus on continuous improvement, KPI delivery, and collaboration with Quality, Transport and Customer Service teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Experience in pharmaceutical operations is desirable but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse processes including goods receipt, storage, picking, and dispatch.
• Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulatory compliance standards.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and operational reporting tools.
• Flexible approach to shift working and operational demands.

Responsibilities

• Lead all warehouse activities on the assigned shift to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
• Ensure GDP, SOPs, H&S compliance, and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
• Deliver shift KPIs including productivity, OTIF/service level, inventory accuracy, and dispatch performance.
• Coach and performance-manage team members, including absence, conduct, and capability.
• Monitor stock control processes including goods receipt, storage, picking, and shipping.
• Plan and deploy labour and resources to meet operational demand.
• Escalate and resolve operational, quality, or compliance issues promptly.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training for warehouse staff.
• Produce and maintain operational reports, shift handovers, and performance records.
• Assist with audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Quality, Transport, and Customer Service teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
• Promote a positive safety and compliance culture across the operation.
• Deputise for senior operations management when required.
