Job summary

Blue Cross is seeking a Pet Welfare Assistant for off-site services in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester. This part-time role (18.75 hours/week) supports foster care, Home Direct, and pet adoptions, focusing on welfare and customer service.

You will join a team dedicated to helping pets find loving homes, with a flexible weekend/public holiday rota and a chance to make a real difference in the community.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar animal welfare environment or voluntary work.
• Ability to record information accurately and communicate clearly.
• Experience in customer-focused roles and achieving satisfaction.
• Good organisational and administration skills including computer systems.
• Full driving licence and understanding of Blue Cross values.

Responsibilities

• Manage a specific number of off-site pet cases in foster or Home Direct services.
• Ensure welfare standards and rehabilitation plans are followed.
• Arrange assessments of pets preparing for new homes in off-site settings.
• Provide high-quality customer service and support to fosterers and clients.
• Represent Blue Cross positively as the public face of the centre.
