Job summary

CVS Veterinary Group is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist for maternity cover across our Kidlington, Headington and Botley sites. You will be the first point of contact, delivering warm welcomes and handling front-of-house duties while supporting the team.

You will develop customer service, administration, and multitasking skills in a busy practice, with training and support from experienced staff and the CVS Vets network.

Qualifications

• Previous receptionist experience required; veterinary setting is a bonus.
• Resilience to handle emotional situations with grace.
• Strong communication and genuine empathy for clients.
• Excellent customer service and public-facing experience.
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently.
• Respond to queries via phone, email, and in person with professionalism.
• Greet and register new clients, ensuring a warm welcome.
• Process and manage insurance forms as needed.
• Dispense medications as required when applicable.
• Process payments accurately and efficiently.
• Provide empathy to clients while maintaining professionalism.
• Organise patients using the in-house system.
• Liaise with other veterinary practices to address needs.
• Make necessary calls regarding debts, belongings and refunds.
• Ensure every client feels welcomed and valued.
