Job summary

CVS Vets is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist at Barton Veterinary Hospital to support daily front-desk operations and client care. You will manage appointments, greet clients, handle payments, and coordinate with the veterinary team.

We value empathy, strong communication, and a customer-first mindset. The role offers 32 or 24 hours with 1:5 weekend mornings, and a flexible shift pattern within a UK veterinary group known for pet-first care.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Receptionist; veterinary setting is a bonus
  • Resilience and ability to handle emotional situations with grace
  • Strong communication skills and genuine empathy
  • Outstanding customer service experience with the public
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in office and database systems

Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently
  • Respond to queries via phone, email and in-person interactions
  • Greet and register new clients with a warm welcome
  • Process and manage insurance forms accurately
  • Dispense medications as required
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently
  • Provide empathy to clients during stressful times while staying professional
  • Organise patients using the in-house system
  • Liaise with veterinary practices to address patient needs
  • Make necessary phone calls regarding debts, belongings and refunds
  • Ensure clients feel welcomed and valued at the practice

We're on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate animal enthusiast to step into the role of a Veterinary Receptionist at our Barton veterinary Hospital.

Location: Barton veterinary Hospital

Contract: Permanent & FTC hours available

Hours: 32hrs & 24hrs including 1:5 w/e Saturday morning 8-12

Shift Pattern: Flexible

About the Role:
  • Manage Communication: Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently
  • Inquiries Resolution: Respond to queries via phone, email, and in-person interactions with professionalism
  • Client Reception: Greet and register new clients, ensuring a warm welcome
  • Insurance Management: Process and manage insurance forms adeptly
  • Medication Distribution: Dispense medications as required
  • Financial Transactions: Process payments accurately and efficiently
  • Emotional Support: Provide empathy and understanding to clients during distressing times, while maintaining professionalism
  • System Utilisation: Organise patients using the in-house system efficiently
  • Inter-practice Communication: Liaise with veterinary practices to address patient needs and queries
  • Debt and Refund Management: Make necessary phone calls regarding debts, belongings, and refunds
  • Client Care: Above all, ensure that every client feels welcomed and valued at our practice
Who We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience as a Receptionist is a must; experience in a veterinary setting is a bonus!
