Job summary

Swap is seeking a People Advisor to partner with HRBP and our People team to deliver proactive HR support across the employee lifecycle. You will advise managers and staff on employee relations, performance, and coaching while ensuring compliant People practices across our global teams.

You’ll drive improvements through data, technology, and automation as Swap scales, handling onboarding, policy interpretation, benefits, and performance reviews with a solutions-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 3 (or equivalent qualification or experience).
• 3–5 years’ HR generalist or advisory experience, ideally in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
• Confident and knowledgeable enough to manage employee relations issues independently, with sound judgement on when to escape.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and a track record of taking initiative.
• Exposure to multi‑jurisdiction employment matters is an advantage, given Swap Commerce’s footprint across the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, the US, Israel, Spain and Canada.
• Strong technical capability and data literacy, and comfort using data and technology to inform decisions and drive efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support and, where appropriate, lead employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance, absence management, flexible working and family leave.
• Own probation and absence management end to end, giving managers and employees practical, timely advice and escalating more complex matters.
• Coach and support managers to handle people issues confidently and consistently, including performance management, calibration, capability development and challenging conversations.
• Partner with People Managers to provide 1:1 coaching, support and guidance on employee relations issues, in support of the HRBP.
• Act as the day-to-day point of contact for employees and managers on HR questions across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, policy interpretation, benefits and performance management, working alongside the People Operations team.
• Lead on family leave and flexible working requests.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, and help build out People processes and documentation.
• Help coordinate and run core HR cycles, including performance reviews, compensation planning and engagement surveys.
