Job summary

A support services organization in the United Kingdom is seeking a qualified trainer to deliver training programmes related to Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) for individuals with Autism and learning disabilities. Candidates should have experience in this field and the ability to manage and deliver vital support training. This role emphasizes proactive strategies to ensure safety and well-being in compliance with legal guidelines.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of working in a PBS role or equivalent required.
  • In-depth knowledge of support needs of people with Autism, learning disabilities and mental health disorders.
  • Responsible for delivering face-to-face training.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver RRN accredited training programmes.
  • Equip teams with skills to manage behaviour.

About you

You will need:

  • NVQ Level 5 qualification in PBS or equivalent/above (or willing to complete)
  • Professional experience working with children and/or adults with Autism and learning disabilities and behaviors of concern. 1 year of working in a PBS role or equivalent.
  • In‑depth knowledge of support needs of people with Autism, learning disabilities and mental health disorders. Sound understanding of PBS, Active Support, Mental Capacity and how this is used to inform practice.
  • Responsible for delivering face‑to‑face RRN accredited training programmes outlined by NAPPI UK to support maintaining our organisational training compliance.
  • Equipping teams with the skills and knowledge to manage behaviour safely, respectfully, and within legal and organisational guidelines.
  • The trainer will promote the use of proactive strategies to minimise the use of restrictive practices and ensure the safety and well‑being of staff and people we support.
  • There will be an expected delivery of 3‑4 days’ worth of training per week with a day to complete administrative tasks.
