A local independent business in Gloucester seeks a Payroll & Accounts Assistant to join their accounts team. Responsibilities include payroll data entry, BACS payment processing, and reporting. The ideal candidate should have strong payroll experience, be proficient in Excel, and have good communication skills. The role offers a Monday to Friday work week with a salary up to £27,500.

Qualifications

  • Proven payroll processing experience is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Collate and enter weekly payroll data.
  • Process BACS payments accurately.
  • Create pension enrolment and contributions reports for NEST.
  • Process weekly invoices efficiently.
  • Generate global profit reports from payroll software.
  • Populate spreadsheets for senior management reporting.
  • Reconcile PAYE and NIC payments with HMRC statements.
  • Complete earning inquiries from DWP and CMS.

Overview

Payroll & Accounts Assistant required for city centre business, GL1, paying up to 27500.

Working week Monday to Friday 35 hours per week.

Our client is a small independent business based in Gloucester and they are looking for an additional person to join their accounts team. The role will involve not only processing weekly payroll but also assisting the Financial Controller with monthly management reporting.

Responsibilities
  • collating and entering weekly payroll data
  • processing BACS payments
  • creating pension enrolment and contributions reports for submission to NEST
  • processing weekly invoices
  • creating Global Profit reports from their payroll software
  • populating spreadsheets to enable reports to be produced for the senior management team
  • reconciling PAYE and NIC payments against HMRC statement
  • completing Earning Enquiries from DWP and CMS
Qualifications
  • proven payroll processing experience
  • confident in the use of IT systems, especially Excel
  • good written and verbal communication skills
  • knowledge of statutory payments (SMP, SPP, SSP)
  • ability to work as part of a small team
