A local healthcare practice in Cambridge is seeking a Patient Services Team Administrator/Medical Receptionist. This vital role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring efficient reception services and managing patient interactions. This is a vital role within the Practice as you will bethe first point of contact for every patient.
The postholder will work closely, and under the directionof the Practice Manager to deliver a first class service to all ourdiverse patients. The position issuitable for someone who wishes to demonstrate initiative and to use theirskills across a wide variety of requirements needed for the role. They will bepart of a happy and committed team.

We are situated just outside the City Centre in a lovelylocation with some parking available for staff, and we also have a branchsurgery in the City Centre.

1. Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the Practice.
2. Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
3. Using your own judgement and communication skills to ensure that the patients with no prior appointment, but who need urgent consultation, are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
4. Explain Practice arrangement and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.
5. Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of details and prompt appropriate delivery.
6. Enter requests for home visits on to computer, ensuring careful coding of all relevant details and where necessary refer to Duty Doctor.
7. Action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient within 48 hours.
8. Prepare lists and notes for all surgeries and clinics held, ensuring completion of all associated paperwork.
9. Advise patients of relevant charges for private (Non General Medical Services) services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.
10. Enter patient information accurately on to the computer as required.
11. Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the Practice Manager.
