CHEC is seeking a Patient Booking Coordinator in Preston, UK, to support our Referral & Bookings Management Centre. This permanent role requires handling referrals and booking appointments while delivering outstanding patient service in a busy environment.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, GPs and optometrists, liaising across NHS and in-house systems. We offer development opportunities, a supportive team, and a positive work culture.

Qualifications

• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Good IT literacy and familiarity with booking systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain service levels.
• Empathy and patience with referrals.
• Strong communication skills and confidence when speaking on the phone.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for patients, GPs and optometrists in the referral process.
• Liaise with primary, community and secondary care providers using NHS and in-house IT systems.
• Process referrals and book patient appointments using the booking system.
• Perform ad hoc administrative duties as necessary.
• Work effectively to CHEC standards.
• Support the referral & bookings management centre to ensure patient needs are met.
