Job description

Pathway Advisor, Calderdale Pay rate, £21.22 per hour Contract role

Vitalis are hiring for a Pathway Advisor to work in a Care Leavers Team in Calderdale.

This post has been approved to provide additional staffing to the service following an increase in service user demand. The service has agreed to pay in the region of £15-£20 per hour depending on relevant experience. The role will primarily require you to work directly with care leavers, aged 18‑25.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Calderdale Pathways Service, ensuring our young people receive excellent support and intervention in line with their Leaving Care entitlements as set out in the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000.

In terms of the role, you will work alongside our care leavers up to the age of 25, guiding, assisting, and supporting them to navigate the transition from care into adulthood and achieve their potential. This would align with the Calderdale MBC's Systemic Practice Model and ethos which is "Would this be good enough for our own child?"

We invest in our practitioners, provide opportunities to continue professional development and ensure consistent and high standards of practice.

We value and understand the importance of networks; the role requires close partnership working with the team around the young person, including their important people, for example, families and friends, and both statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that child‑centred systemic practice is the principal standard and framework for all work we undertake.

We support critical reflection and constructive challenge within the course of working with colleagues, other agencies and with young people and their families or carers. Your role will include direct work with our young people and their network, including coordinating and facilitating group and enrichment activities. This means you will be expected to have access to your own vehicle and the relevant business insurance to carry out the role to a high standard and support you to have regular contact with young people.

Don’t forget, if this role isn’t the perfect fit, we’re confident we can find one that is. We recruit across a wide range of public sector specialisms, including:

  • Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO)
  • Best Interest Assessor (BIA)
  • Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
  • Looked After Children (LAC)
  • Children’s Social Work
  • Adult Social Work
  • Service Manager
  • Head of Service
  • Team Manager
  • Assistant Team Manager
  • A wide range of housing roles
  • Careers in SEND in local authorities
