Job summary

Hartshorne Group is seeking a proactive Parts Advisor for our Birmingham Depot. You will provide essential parts and administrative support to keep the workshop running, handling sourcing, pricing, quotations and stock control with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Strong customer service, teamwork and willingness to learn are essential, with full training provided. Monday–Friday hours and some Saturday rotation apply, with benefits to support staff well-being.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial parts or similar role preferred, but full training will be provided.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Able to work as part of a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify, source, price and supply parts to keep fleet running smoothly.
• Prepare quotations and pre-pick parts for scheduled maintenance.
• Manage urgent parts requests and use pricing tools to secure best value.
• Maintain stock accuracy and handle warranty/contract-related items.
• Ensure documentation and records are completed accurately.

Hartshorne Group Parts Advisor Birmingham

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team at our Birmingham Depot as a Parts Advisor. The Hartshorne Group is one of the leading commercial vehicle distributors for the West Midlands, East Midlands, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire. We provide full parts & service facilities for Volvo Truck & Bus as well as new and used sales, plus a diverse range of associated services.

In this key role, you will provide vital parts and administrative support to our workshop operation, ensuring the timely identification, sourcing, pricing, and supply of parts to keep our vehicle and trailer fleet running efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing quotations, pre-picking parts for scheduled maintenance, managing urgent parts requests, and using pricing tools to secure the best value while staying up to date with current supplier promotions. The role also includes managing stock control processes, maintaining stock accuracy, handling warranty and contract-related items, coordinating exchange and specialist tool procedures, and ensuring all systems, records, and documentation are completed accurately and efficiently.

Hours of Work

• Monday - Friday 07.00am to 16.00pm.
• 1 in 3 Saturdays 08.00am to 12.00pm.
