Job summary

Auto Skills UK is looking for an experienced HGV Parts Advisor to join our Coalville workshop. You’ll source and quote HGV parts, liaise with technicians, and manage stock while keeping accurate records. The role requires strong knowledge of HGV components and reliable data entry.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £35,000–£40,000 DOE, Monday to Friday with every other Saturday morning, on-site facilities and employee discount.

Qualifications

• Experience in an HGV parts environment.
• Strong knowledge of HGV components and parts.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proficient with stock control and parts ordering.
• Good communication with technicians and suppliers.
• At least 2 years' HGV parts experience preferred.
• Full UK Driving Licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Source and quote HGV parts.
• Liaise with technicians to identify parts required.
• Contact suppliers to source parts and obtain pricing.
• Process parts enquiries and purchase orders.
• Carry out regular stock checks.
• Monitor stock levels and order parts as needed.
• Log incoming stock against active jobs and POs.
• Manage parts returns efficiently.
• Check costs and ensure accurate parts administration.
• Maintain accurate stock and inventory records.
• Work closely with technicians to minimise downtime.
• Support other areas of the business when required.
• Maintain a clean, organised parts department.

Location: Coalville

Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum DOE

Hours: Monday-Friday | 08:00-17:30
Saturday: Every other Saturday | 08:00-13:00

HGV Parts Advisor

Are you an experienced Parts Advisor with strong knowledge of HGV parts and components?

We are looking for an organised and detail-focused HGV Parts Advisor to join a busy and established workshop environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous HGV parts experience who enjoys working closely with technicians, suppliers and the wider workshop team.

You’ll play an important role in ensuring technicians have the correct parts available when required, while maintaining accurate stock records and efficient parts processes.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Sourcing and quoting HGV parts
• Liaising with technicians to identify the correct parts required
• Contacting suppliers to source parts and obtain competitive pricing
• Processing parts enquiries and purchase orders
• Carrying out regular stock checks
• Monitoring stock levels and ordering parts and consumables when required
• Logging incoming stock against active jobs and purchase orders
• Managing parts returns efficiently
• Checking agreed costs and ensuring accurate parts administration
• Maintaining accurate stock and inventory records
• Working closely with technicians to minimise vehicle downtime
• Supporting other areas of the business when required
• Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient parts department

About You

We're looking for an experienced HGV Parts Advisor, HGV Parts Coordinator or Parts Advisor with:

• Previous experience within an HGV parts environment
• Strong knowledge of HGV components and parts
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Accurate data entry skills
• Experience with stock control and parts ordering
• Good communication skills when dealing with technicians and suppliers
• A proactive and reliable approach
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• At least 2 years' HGV mechanical or parts experience is preferred.

A full UK Driving Licence would be advantageous.
