Job summary

IVC Evidensia in Witham is seeking a Receptionist to join our Spring Lodge Veterinary Hospital on a part-time fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. You will be the first point of contact for clients, ensuring a welcoming, professional experience and supporting appointments, enquiries and day-to-day admin in a busy practice.

Responsibilities

• Greeting clients in a professional, friendly and courteous manner.
• Answering phone calls promptly and handling enquiries efficiently.
• Booking, cancelling and managing appointments.
• Taking cash and card payments.
• Processing insurance claims and instalment enquiries.
• Handling cash reconciliation and end-of-day banking procedures.
• Dispensing medications and prescriptions.
• Maintaining accurate client and patient records.
• Managing and responding to clinic emails.
• Completing daily administrative paperwork (lab reports, consent forms, vaccination documents, etc.).
• Ensuring reception areas, client information and retail products are well stocked and presentable.
• Liaising with charities regarding collection boxes.
• Attending reception team meetings when required.
