Job summary

inspiring vet care is seeking a friendly and organised Receptionist to join our team at Spring Lodge, Witham on a part-time fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. You will be the first point of contact, handling appointments, enquiries and payments while supporting clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

The role requires excellent communication, a customer-focused attitude and the ability to multitask in a busy veterinary practice.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role with a focus on service and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, welcoming manner.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Greeting clients in a professional, friendly and courteous manner
• Answering phone calls promptly and handling enquiries efficiently
• Booking, cancelling and managing appointments
• Taking cash and card payments
• Processing insurance claims and instalment enquiries
• Handling cash reconciliation and end-of-day banking procedures
• Dispensing medications and prescriptions
• Maintaining accurate client and patient records
• Managing and responding to clinic emails
• Completing daily administrative paperwork (lab reports, consent forms, vaccination documents)
• Ensuring reception areas, client information and retail products are well stocked and presentable
• Liaising with charities regarding collection boxes
• Attending reception team meetings when required
