Part-Time Vet Receptionist – Upminster, Essex Up to 16.5 Hours Per Week 1-in-4 Weekends Minimum Wage

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a part-time Receptionist to join a busy and highly regarded veterinary hospital team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident, warm, and passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.

The Role

You will be the first point of contact for clients, providing a welcoming and professional experience to both pet owners and their pets. This is a varied and fast-paced position, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to support both clinical and non-clinical teams.

Key duties include
  • Greeting clients and ensuring a positive first impression
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries
  • Booking appointments with accuracy and efficiency
  • Supporting the smooth running of the reception area
  • Liaising with veterinary teams to ensure excellent client care
Hours & Working Pattern
  • Up to 16.5 hours per week
  • 1-in-4 weekends
  • Weekday shifts: typically 6 hours
  • Weekend shifts: 9 hours (including a paid 1-hour lunch break)
  • Most shifts fall between 1 pm and 11 pm
  • Shared Bank Holiday cover: around 2 per year
  • Christmas Day cover required once every 4 years
  • Fully on-site position
What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in reception or customer service roles, with confidence in managing face-to-face interactions, phone calls, emails, and appointment systems. You should be friendly, organised, and able to remain calm in a busy environment.
