Job summary

NHS Grampian in Aberdeen is seeking a part-time Support Manager (Band 6) to join the Acute Division of Surgery. This fixed-term, 2-year post, offers 18 hours per week and supports operational and strategic delivery of surgical services while improving patient access and reducing waiting times.

You will work Monday to Wednesday (flexible upon interview) with unit managers and the Access Team to monitor performance, coordinate pathways, and drive service improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in NHS operational or healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of waiting times management and targets.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of national waiting times standards and patient access targets.
• Assist with service planning, performance monitoring, and operational management.
• Collaborate with clinical and managerial colleagues to identify and implement service improvements.
• Coordinate patient pathways to ensure timely access to care.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and service redesign projects.
• Lead the management of patient complaints and concerns with investigations and timely resolutions.
