Job summary

Machine Mart Ltd in Gateshead is seeking a customer-focused sales advisor to join a small team and help customers choose from our range of technical equipment. You will explain products clearly, offer honest advice, and build rapport to exceed customer expectations.

You will work up to 36 hours per week with paid breaks and access to staff discounts, healthcare plans, a company pension, life cover, and training opportunities to promote internal progression.

Qualifications

• Experience selling technical products to customers.
• Experience in a retail customer service environment.
• Experience dealing with customers.
• Knowledge of our product range is advantageous.
• Good numeracy and accuracy.
• Basic computer literacy.

Job description

What you'll be doing:

• You’ll be joining a small team of between 4-6 members of staff
• You’ll be committed to delivering a great customer experience
• You’ll be working up to 36 hours per week - any extra time worked beyond your contracted hours is paid or can be taken as time off in lieu
• You’ll be explaining technical equipment in an understandable manner
• You’ll be committed to offering honest advice and building a rapport with customers
• You’ll ensure that you exceed our customers' expectations and reassure them when they're bewildered by choice
• You’ll be working hard as part of the team in achieving challenging sales targets

What you'll need - skills and experience:

• You’ll have previous experience in selling technical products to customers
• You’ll have experience in a retail customer service orientated environment
• You’ll have previous experience in dealing with customers
• You’ll have practical experience / knowledge of some or all of our product range
• You’ll possess strong accuracy and numeracy skills
• You’ll possess basic computer literacy
• You’ll be self motivated and have a can-do attitude
