Job summary

Machine Mart Ltd in Burton upon Trent is seeking a part-time sales assistant to help customers with technical products and provide excellent service. You will work up to 27 hours per week, explaining equipment and offering honest advice while building rapport with customers.

You will be part of a small team, aiming to meet challenging sales targets and deliver an outstanding shopping experience. Training and development will be provided along with staff discounts and other benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience selling technical products to customers.
• Experience in a retail customer service environment.
• Experience dealing with customers.
• Practical knowledge of our product range.
• Strong accuracy and numeracy.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.

What you’ll be doing:

• You’ll be joining a small team of between 4 – 6 members of staff


• You’ll be committed to delivering a great customer experience


• You'll be working up to 27 hours per week - any extra time worked beyond your contracted hours is paid or can be taken as time off in lieu


• You’ll be explaining technical equipment in an understandable manner


• You’ll be committed to offering honest advice and building a rapport with customers


• You’ll ensure that you exceed our customers’ expectations and reassure them when they're bewildered by choice


• You’ll be working hard as part of the team in achieving challenging sales targets

What you’ll need - skills and experience:

• You’ll have previous experience in selling technical products to customers


• You’ll have experience in a retail customer service orientated environment


• You’ll have previous experience in dealing with customers


• You’ll have practical experience / knowledge of some or all of our product range


• You’ll possess strong accuracy and numeracy skills


• You’ll possess basic computer literacy


• You’ll be self motivated and have a can-do attitude
