Job summary

Education Authority seeks a Mobile Catering Assistant to support school meal services across Derry/Londonderry and Limavady. Base locations will be determined on appointment, with duties including food prep, simple cooking, serving meals, and maintaining dining areas.

You will work 16.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with hours varying by school meals kitchen. A retainer fee is paid during school holidays.

Qualifications

• Evidence of effective leadership and people management in a team setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills relevant to service delivery.
• Good planning, organizational and decision-making abilities under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages, including vegetables and snacks.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling service points and dining areas.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks to pupils and staff.
• Promoting meals to pupils, parents and principals.
• Maintaining contact with the central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Setting up dining areas and ensuring cleanliness of dining spaces.
• Washing up and clearing away equipment; cleaning kitchen and servery areas.
• Recording temperatures for control purposes and ensuring premises security.
• Completing necessary administration and duties within job scope.
