Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a Mobile Catering Assistant to support daily operations in school catering units. You will help with food prep, service, dining area setup and hygiene, while promoting meals to pupils and parents. The role requires teamwork and adherence to safety standards.

Based in Newry, the post offers 16.25 hours per week, with a retainer paid during school holidays and a focus on reliable, child-centred service. Experience in catering or customer service is desirable.

• Ability to plan, organise and meet deadlines under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food prep and beverage service for pupils.
• Arrange dining areas and service points for meals.
• Serve meals, promote meals to pupils and parents, and maintain hygiene.
• Coordinate with central kitchen and monitor temperatures for safety.
• Keep dining and kitchen areas clean and safe, and handle routine admin.
