Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a Mobile Catering Assistant to support the catering unit at SMK base Tyrone-Strabane Holy Cross College. The role is part-time (16.25 hours/week), Monday to Friday, under the supervision of the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor to deliver hygienic, efficient service and promote school meals.

Responsibilities include food prep, basic cooking, serving, maintaining hygiene, and coordinating with central kitchen where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or customer service is desirable.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a school catering environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good planning, organisational and decision-making abilities under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and snacks.
• Support simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organise and control point of service and transfer meals.
• Serve meals and promote meals to pupils and parents.
• Maintain dining area and clean kitchen and dining facilities.
• Record temperatures for safety and ensure premises are secure.
