Job summary

Education Authority in Derry/Londonderry is seeking a Mobile Catering Assistant to join the school meals service. You will assist with food prep, service points, dining setup, and support the central kitchen as needed, in a busy educational environment.

The role is part-time (16.25 hours/week), working Monday to Friday, with a retainer paid during school holidays. You must be prepared to travel between SMK sites within the Derry/Londonderry/Limavady area and uphold hygiene and safeguarding

Qualifications

• Willingness to undertake job related training.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Effective planning, organisational and decision-making abilities.
• Motivation towards providing good food and customer service for children.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food and beverages, including vegetables and snacks.
• Carry out simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared meals.
• Organise and control food service points.
• Transfer and serve meals and snacks to pupils.
• Promote meals to pupils, parents and staff.
• Maintain contact with central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Prepare dining area and set tables, cutlery and jugs.
• Complete kitchen and dining room duties and cleaning.
• Record temperatures for quality control.
• Secure premises and carry out delegated duties.
• Complete administration and support service provision.
• Adhere to legal requirements and school ethos.
