Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) invites applications for a Mobile Catering Assistant. You will actively participate in daily catering unit operations under the supervision of the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor, delivering hygienic meals and maintaining service points.

The role requires basic food preparation, serving meals, assisting with promoting meals to pupils and parents, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Willingness to undertake job related training.
• Access to a suitable vehicle for Education Authority duties.
• Alternative transport arrangements must meet mobility requirements.
• Shortlisting will be based on the application form.

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages using appropriate equipment.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks including transported meals.
• Assisting with promotion of meals to pupils, parents and school leaders.
• Maintaining contact with central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Preparing dining area and setting tables and serving points.
• Cleaning kitchen/servery, dining room and equipment.
• Recording temperatures for control purposes as required.
• Carrying out duties to comply with relevant laws and codes of practice.
