Job summary

Education Authority invites applications for a Catering Assistant to support the daily operation of the school canteen in Antrim-Belfast area. The role involves basic food prep, serving meals, and maintaining a clean dining environment, under the supervision of the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor.

The post requires good communication, teamwork, and a customer‑focused approach to provide quality meals for children and young people. Part-time hours apply with a fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with basic food and beverages, including vegetables and snacks.
• Organise and control food service points and transfer/serve meals and snacks.
• Promote meals to pupils, parents and the school community, and liaise with central kitchen as needed.
• Maintain dining area, tables and serving points; clean kitchen and dining areas.
• Record temperatures for food safety and ensure premises security and compliance with regulations.
