Job summary

CIH International Housing Group in Malton is seeking a dedicated Support Officer for Derwent Lodge, a 14-bed supported accommodation service that helps vulnerable adults build independence.

You will assess needs, create bespoke plans, coordinate interventions with partners, and support tenancy sustainment for residents aged 16 to 25, delivering person-centred support while safeguarding and recording progress.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing support or related services is desirable.
• Ability to build relationships with residents and support them to live independently.
• Experience with safeguarding and working with partner agencies desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead on support assessments, planning and reviews.
• Develop tailored support plans focused on independence and tenancy sustainment.
• Support residents to build essential life skills, including budgeting, managing a home, paying rent, and understanding tenancy responsibilities.
• Provide practical and emotional support to individuals who may have experienced trauma, addiction, or mental health challenges.
• Encourage residents to identify and work towards personal goals.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to deliver effective support.
