Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is seeking a Housing Officer on a temporary contract in Birmingham. The role focuses on managing tenancies, supporting residents, and day-to-day housing management.

The position is 24 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with an initial 4–6 month contract. Travel to visit tenants is required, and the role is office-based.

Experience in rent accounts, arrears, and strong communication are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Housing Officer or in housing management.
• Strong knowledge of assured tenancies and tenancy management.
• Experience managing rent accounts and arrears.
• Good communication and relationship-building skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of assured tenancies and day-to-day tenancy management.
• Monitor rent accounts and take action on arrears.
• Support tenants with tenancy queries and rent issues.
• Carry out tenancy visits and property inspections.
• Deal with tenancy breaches and resolve issues.
• Support tenancy sustainment and build positive resident relationships.
