Job summary

Central England Co-operative invites applications for a funeral care role where you will support families at difficult times and care for the deceased with dignity. You will join a close-knit team, provide compassionate service, and participate in standby/on-call duties as required.

Role requires physical stamina for lifting and transferring, and a full UK manual driving licence. Training and support will be provided, with a clear path to long-term, rewarding work in funeral care.

Qualifications

• Must have compassion, empathy and pride in professionalism when caring for the deceased.
• Physical ability to lift and transfer the deceased person.
• Hold a full UK Manual driving licence and be prepared to assist with on-call schedules.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for families at the scene and support arrangements for the deceased.
• Prepare and present the deceased with dignity and respect, including washing and dressing.
• Participate in Standby and On-Call rotas across varying shifts.
