Job summary

Harplands Hospital is seeking a part-time receptionist to join the front of house team within a round-the-clock service. The role is 16 hours a week over a 12-month contract, based at the hospital site.

You will answer calls, route them to the right departments and cover colleagues on leave, maintaining confidentiality and following Trust procedures. Previous operational switchboard and reception experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Operational switchboard and reception experience
• Experience operating a computerised switchboard

Responsibilities

• Receive telephone calls in a professional, polite manner
• Redirect calls to the relevant departments
• Provide a comprehensive receptionist and telephonist service at Harplands Hospital
• Carry out front of house reception duties
• Ensure all duties are carried out accurately and efficiently
• Maintain confidentiality
• Follow Trust procedures
• Maintain records
• Cover for other staff during annual leave and other absences
