Job summary

Gower College Swansea is looking for a Facilities Operative (Caretaker) to carry out maintenance, respond to issues, ensure security, and cover campuses. This part-time role (20 hours per week) is fixed-term until December, with shifts including evenings, weekends and 6:00am–10:00pm and on-call duties with additional pay.

Primary location is Sketty Hall. You should have an NVQ Level 3 in a relevant craft and be willing to work towards First Aid and IOSH; COSHH and Health & Safety knowledge is

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in a relevant craft is preferred.
• First Aid and IOSH qualifications are desirable.
• COSHH and Health & Safety knowledge are essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and temporary repairs to property, fixtures and fittings.
• Support the security of College premises, including opening, closing and site checks as required.
• Respond to facilities-related issues across College sites, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for learners, staff and visitors.
• Work flexibly with the Facilities team to provide cover across sites, including satellite sites, in line with service needs.
