Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is seeking an Emergency Support Officer to help residents live independently at home. The post covers out-of-hours rapid response and welfare visits, coordinating personal care packages to maintain safety and independence.

You will review care plans, respond to urgent situations, and ensure DBS clearance and training are in place. The role is based mainly in Yate and requires travel across the area.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in health/social care (e.g., degree, NVQ6, CQCSW, DipSW).
• Relevant sector experience with knowledge of legislation and codes of practice.
• Knowledge of emergency response processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review, assess and implement emergency personal care packages while promoting independence.
• Respond to complex situations, coordinating immediate telecare and carer's emergencies.
• Decide on appropriate response when needs are unmet after short-term packages.
• Ensure all team responders hold a Care Certificate and attend supervision and training.
