Job summary

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council's Rothercare service seeks a compassionate Rothercare Response Officer for a 21-hour-per-week, fixed-term maternity cover from 5 October 2026 to 4 October 2027. Working across a 7-day, 3-shift rota, you will provide reassurance, assess risk, and respond to calls from vulnerable adults.

You will visit customers at home as a Mobile Responder when required and receive full training to deliver all aspects of the service.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting adults with vulnerabilities.
• Empathy, patience and professionalism in communication.

Responsibilities

• Be a calm voice at critical moments Responding to calls and alerts from vulnerable adults via our control centre systems, listening carefully, assessing risk, and deciding on the appropriate response.
• Provide reassurance in person, when required, attending customers’ homes as a Mobile Responder to check on their wellbeing and offer practical support.
