Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is seeking an Emergency Support Officer to enable residents to live independently at home. The role coordinates an out-of-hours rapid response service and ensures delivery of emergency and urgent personal care welfare visits.

You will review and implement care packages, respond to complex situations and ensure staff hold Care Certificates, with supervision and training updates. Part-time 18.5 hours/week, driving licence and DBS enhanced clearance required.

Qualifications

• Hold a professional qualification in health and social care (degree, NVQ6, CQCSW or DipSW).
• Relevant sector experience and knowledge of legislation and codes of practice.
• DBS check is required (enhanced).

Responsibilities

• Review, assess and implement emergency personal care packages to promote independence.
• Respond to complex situations and coordinate immediate responses to telecare and emergencies.
• Decide on appropriate actions if needs are unmet after short-term care.
• Ensure team members have Care Certificates and participate in supervision and training.
