Newcastle Building Society is hiring a part-time Customer Adviser to join our front-line team in Barnard Castle. The role involves greeting customers, processing transactions, opening savings accounts, and delivering a high-quality, face-to-face service every day.

The 21-hour week runs Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am–5pm, with Saturday on a rota basis. You’ll be supported by a tailored 12-week training programme and opportunities to grow within the society.

Qualifications

• Excellent people skills and ability to build relationships with customers.
• Strong listening skills and the ability to empathise.
• Natural team player who works well with colleagues to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Open tills and set up for the day.
• Process customer transactions at the counter.
• Assist with opening savings accounts and related banking tasks.
• Cash up and close at the end of the day.
• Arrange customer appointments and provide a high level of service.
