The National Trust is seeking a Community, Participation & Volunteering Co-ordinator for the North East Wales Property Group, to help more people connect with nature, beauty and history. You will support communities, volunteers and partners to shape inclusive opportunities across Erddig and Chirk Castle.

You will work with local communities to grow engagement, strengthen relationships and deliver volunteering programmes, ensuring volunteers feel valued and able to contribute meaningfully.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of community engagement and participatory practice.
• Experience increasing community participation and inclusive opportunities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to coach and support across teams.
• Confidence using data and insight to guide decisions.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR, equality and volunteering.
• Proactive, empathetic and inclusive approach.

Responsibilities

• Co-design opportunities with communities, volunteers and partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with local organisations and schools.
• Develop and deliver inclusive volunteering and participation programmes.
• Identify and remove barriers to engagement.
• Gather insights from communities to inform planning and decisions.
• Collaborate with property and specialist teams to embed participation across the portfolio.
• Support volunteer involvement and ensure meaningful contributions.
• Champion inclusive approaches to widen participation.
