Job summary

The National Trust seeks a Senior Community, Participation and Volunteering Manager for the East Birmingham, Coventry and Solihull portfolio. The role focuses on inclusivity, outreach to underserved communities, and developing a vibrant volunteering offer across the portfolio.

You’ll join a new portfolio aligned to the strategy People and Nature Thriving, working with staff and partners to engage diverse audiences while managing weekend and bank holiday duties.

Qualifications

• Understanding of community engagement and participatory practice in different contexts
• Understanding of volunteer engagement and developing new approaches to volunteering
• Ability to think strategically, analyse data and insights, prioritise activities and engage diverse audiences
• Experience of partnership working and stakeholder engagement
• Experience delivering engagement programmes that respond to local needs
• Ability to build collaborative working relationships and coach others
• Experience managing grant-funded programmes
• Ability to engage with communities and partners beyond the property portfolio

Responsibilities

• Develop a plan for community participation across the portfolio and broaden outward engagement
• Explore positive, inclusive volunteering opportunities for Charterhouse and beyond
• Engage diverse communities, promote our work to new audiences and develop partnerships for growth
• Advocate for our work and secure external funds to support and grow activities
• Manage multiple priorities and delegate tasks to ensure progress and clarity
