Job summary

National Trust is seeking a Community, Participation & Volunteering Co-ordinator to join the North East Wales Property Group. You will help people connect with nature, beauty and history by engaging communities, volunteers and partners across Erddig and Chirk Castle.

The role focuses on co-designing opportunities that are inclusive and meaningful, with a commitment to safeguarding and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in community engagement and participatory practice.
• Ability to develop inclusive volunteering opportunities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to coach and support colleagues across teams.
• Confident using data and insight to guide decisions.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR, equality and volunteering legislation.
• Proactive, empathetic and inclusive approach.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver community, participation and volunteering opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with local organisations and partners.
• Support inclusive volunteering and participation programmes.
• Identify and remove barriers to engagement across sites.
• Collect insights from communities to inform planning and decisions.
• Collaborate with property and specialist teams to embed participation.
• Support volunteers to feel valued and contribute meaningfully.
• Promote inclusive approaches to involve a wider range of people.
