Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for Poole. This fixed term role (9 months) is 30 hours per week, with shifts Monday to Sunday and Sundays at Winton Delivery Office. You will deliver letters and parcels, wear a Royal Mail van, and serve the local community.

Salary: £13.68 per hour (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30.00 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday

Monday - Saturday hours: 13:00 - 19:00

Sunday hours: 10:00 - 16:00

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
