Job summary

A law enforcement agency is seeking a Paralegal for the Disclosure Team. This position is crucial in managing legal disclosures and assisting in safeguarding children. Applicants should possess excellent communication skills and experience in a busy office environment. Training on disclosure legislation is provided. Qualifications

Post: Paralegal – Disclosure

Salary: Scale 4 / 5 - £27,204 - £32,613 (pro rata)

Hours: 32 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Middlesbrough Police Station and Cleveland Police Central HQ, Hemlington

Applications are invited for the position of Paralegal within the Disclosure Team, Legal Services based at Middlesbrough Police Station and Cleveland Police Central HQ, Hemlington.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to requests for third party disclosure, disclosure for family proceedings and CAFCASS.
  • Process other requests for disclosure in various legal proceedings, including common law police disclosure.
  • Assist with safeguarding children, providing information to enable the courts to make considered decisions.
  • Review and progress cases for legal proceedings, including family court proceedings.
  • Liaise with external agencies and colleagues force wide.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Track record of working in a busy office environment.
  • Organisational and research skills, utilisation of various IT systems and databases.
  • Basic understanding of disclosure legislation and procedures is advantageous; full training will be provided.

You will deliver a high quality service, have the ability to prioritise demanding workloads, applying professional judgement to make effective decisions.
