Job summary

Salvation Army Homes is seeking a dedicated Night Concierge to provide a waking, overnight on-site presence at The Limes, Longsight, Manchester. You will help ensure the safety and wellbeing of 26 young men aged 18-25, aligning with the charity’s values and transforming lives through supportive, proactive engagement.

The role involves building relationships with residents, de-escalating conflicts, and safeguarding the building during 10pm–8am shifts on a 4-on/4-off rota.

Qualifications

• Be a confident and capable communicator with the ability to de-escalate difficult situations.
• Build trusting, professional relationships with residents and maintain resilience.
• Asset-based approach to empowering residents to develop skills and strengths.
• Knowledge or experience of working with homeless or vulnerable people is desirable.
• Proactive, motivated, and can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Engage and build supportive relationships with residents living in the service.
• Explain the service and residents' responsibilities under their Licence Agreement and Good Neighbour Agreement.
• Respond to emergency situations and contact appropriate emergency services when required.
• Ensure safety and security by monitoring CCTV, and completing Health & Safety checks and patrols.
• Respond to reports of repairs and maintenance promptly following procedures.
