Job description
Outsourcing Accountant - Ascot (Hybrid)

Salary: £52,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Ascot, Berkshire (SL5)

Firm: Top 100 Accountancy Practice

Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 from home once settled)

Are you an experienced Outsourcing Accountant looking to join a forward-thinking, people-focused firm where your work actually makes a difference?

This is a brilliant opportunity to join one of the UK's Top 100 accountancy firms, within a highly regarded Outsourcing Department that delivers a true outsourced finance function – not just bookkeeping rebadged as outsourcing. The role offers autonomy, variety, and progression in a collaborative, modern environment.

You’ll work with an interesting mix of clients, from owner‑managed businesses to international subsidiaries, helping them improve financial visibility, streamline systems and embrace digital tools. The team is long‑established, stable, and full of people who genuinely enjoy what they do – turnover here is incredibly low because people grow and stay.

The Role

As an Outsourcing Accountant, you’ll take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, delivering management reporting, VAT and advisory services while mentoring junior team members and contributing to project work.

  • Preparing and reviewing management accounts, VAT and CIS returns, cash flow forecasts, P11Ds and PSAs.
  • Acting as the key client contact – providing insight, problem‑solving and practical finance advice.
  • Overseeing bookkeeping and management reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members, helping them to develop.
  • Driving efficiency through automation and process improvement.
  • Liaising with other departments across Tax, Audit, Payroll and Business Services.
  • Using leading cloud accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, Silverfin, Fathom and Apron.
  • Involvement in project work such as HMRC registrations, software conversions and due diligence preparation.
About You
  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in practice is essential, ideally within outsourcing, management accounts or business services.
  • Confident communicator with strong technical knowledge across bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts.
  • Comfortable working directly with clients, managing deadlines and solving problems.
  • Proactive, organised and tech‑savvy, with an interest in digital accounting tools.
What's on Offer
  • Salary between £52,000 and £60,000, depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working model – typically three days in the office, two from home once established.
  • Free parking and great transport links (10‑minute walk from Ascot station).
  • Monthly one‑to‑ones and a structured mentoring programme.
  • Continuous professional development and a clear path for career progression.
  • Investors in People – Silver accreditation.
  • Friendly, supportive culture where people are trusted to get on with their work.

This is a role for someone who wants to feel valued, challenged and supported in equal measure – joining a firm where outsourcing is seen as a cornerstone of the business, not an add‑on.
